~ Meet the Virgo ~ Dinah Gacon

Dinah Gacon is a hair cutting specialist/educator and owner of Textured Petite Hair Studio in Westborough, MA. The studio focuses on having a safe space to truly get to know clients while creating hairstyles that highlight the individual’s hair texture and adding a soft and modern twist. Her true passion is haircutting, and she specializes in straight razor cutting, pixies, modern mullet, shags and more. What are your sun/moon/rising astrological placements?

I’m a Virgo sun, Gemini moon, and Virgo rising.  

How do you feel your signs have an influence over your work?

I feel my signs always direct me to how much I love the super fine details of what I do. I am very attention to detail oriented and I always look at every haircut or color I create under a very fine tuned lens. I guess I have to thank my double Virgo chart in how much I value checking everything twice or three times (lol) before I finish.

Tell us about a favorite scent memory.

My favorite scent memory is being in San Francisco walking amongst the beautiful redwood trees. Smelling the fresh air combined with the woodsy scent of the redwoods always brings a sense of grounding and calm to my mind. 

What color are you really vibing with lately?

As of now, I am vibing with anything bright. I love pairing a bright colored pair of pants with a solid top or a bold lip color with a classic jumpsuit. I like simple outfit choices but with a bold pop of color either with my makeup or jewelry, bandana.  

What’s something interesting that you’ve read, watched, or listened to recently?

I am reading Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act: A Way of Being. It’s such a tribute to how creative people process their art and how there’s so much fluidity in how we value our craft and value others art as well. A must read for all my creative peeps.

Do you have any magical rituals or special ways you like to unwind in your space?

I always love to stretch my body and foam roll each night before winding down. I work such a physically demanding job, and I must stretch and practice deep breathing in order for my mind and body to recenter and reset.  

What’s something exciting you’re looking forward to this year? 

I am very excited to be cooking up some haircutting teachings in my own studio space this year. I have such a passion for the art of straight razor haircutting, and showing other stylists the value of a sculpted haircut.
